Are you looking for a new type of HIIT workout? Well you are in luck because the proform cardio hiit elliptical trainer will give you just that. I was in a rut with my HIIT workouts. I was getting them done but I was getting bored doing the same ol ones over and over. I also wasn’t sure if I was getting my heart rate where it needed to be. I wish I had started working with this machine sooner.
Things to consider before buying a HIIT trainer
If you are not familiar with HIIT (which most likely your are since your are looking for info on the proform trainer – I’ll keep it short). HIIT or high interval intensity training is a great workout that is shorter and to the point.
It gets your heart rate up quickly with shorter bursts. Think of it like sprinting. When you do these kind of exercises you get your body burning calories while you are working out and it keeps burning them through the rest of the day. (Find out some more details on benefits of hiit training here.)
HIIT is unlike jogging. With jogging you do a longer lower heart rate cardio and you burn your calories only while you are doing the exercise and not after.
So if you are looking for something to replace your regular jogging like a treadmill this might not be for you. But if you are familiar with HIIT and are looking for a new way to train or if you are looking to change your workouts then this might be the perfect machine for you.
So let me ask you this – would you rather do a longer exercise that only burns calories while you are doing that exercise or would you prefer a shorter exercise and a little more intense but keeps you burning calories the rest of the day?
I will choose shorter and more intense please.
Presenting the Proform Cardio HIIT Elliptical Trainer
The proform cardio hiit trainer is a treadmill or a standard elliptical on steroids. With this machine you will combine the intensity of a boxing class with the movement of stair climbing.
You will engage so many different muscles while burning so many more calories you will be amazed. You will be sore in places you didn’t even have muscles (at least after your first workout). You might want to ease into this work out. But you will learn to love the burn.
If you are looking for a high intensity workout that doesn’t take a toll on your body like running can and you don’t want to go to the gym and you don’t have a ton of space then this is a great fit.

Features & Benefits
The vertical climb on this elliptical trainer is like no other. You get a 10 inch climb path which builds more strength and helps you burn more calories. While your lower body is climbing and burning your upper body is punching and burning.
With your body punching and climbing you are activating your calves, quads, glutes, and hamstrings on the lower half and your biceps, triceps and shoulders on your upper half. The more muscles you use the more calories you burn.
While working the full body mentioned above is working hard the machine is moving quietly with you. It’s not like an air machine or other machines that are making loud noises while working out making you have to turn up the volume on the TV or the headphones.
The quiet magnetic resistance keeps everything smooth and calm allowing you to listen to your music or watch your shows or just concentrate on your workout. In addition to magnetic resistance being quiet it should last longer since the parts won’t wear out as quickly.
If you are concerned about high intensity being high impact – don’t be. With the Proform your feet never leave the pedal so you have zero impact on your joints and no jarring your back.
If you are worried that you don’t have the space in your house for this HIIT trainer you can think again. The proform is half the size of your standard elliptical / treadmill. The machine is 39″L x 29.25″W x 66.7″H so it will fit perfectly in any area that is a little bigger than those dimensions.
The machine is very attractive and you can even put it in the middle of your living room as a centerpiece or talking piece 🙂
No matter what your strength and cardio level is there is a setting that should work for you. The standard proform hitt trainer has 24 resistance levels whereas the HIIT Trainer Pro has 26 resistance levels. So either way you can work your way up to the best resistance level for you.
Start at the lower levels and challenge yourself to move up to the harder levels as you get fit.
And since I mentioned there are two models let me discuss this a little more so you know the differences I found when I researched each.
Both are iFit Coach Ready which is a virtual coach of sorts. It can track your workouts, sleep eating and more and provide recommendations for your workouts. You get a 1 month trial with either of the proform cardio hiit trainers.
Both have tablet cell phone holders, water bottle holders, cool air fan, and transportation wheels which make it easy to move if needed, but it’s very stable while in place with the stabilizing feet.

Hard to go wrong with either models. I am not sure in my opinion if the pro model is that much more worth it for not that many more items. But that is a personal choice ofcourse.
What are the reviews out there for the proform cardio hiit trainer
When doing my research I looked all over to see what people were saying. Product description is one thing but what do the people who purchased it have to say? That will sometimes give you the best clue.
Most of what I did find showed the product was a rather good product and performed as described in the marketing materials.
Majority of the ratings were high. Obviously there are going to be negative reviews for one reason or another. I have a few screenshots here of both good and bad reviews.
Some Alternatives to the proform cardio hiit trainer
Bowflex Max Trainer M5
- The Bowflex has a few models that are similar product that gets good reviews as well. The M5 has 16 levels of resistance along with 8 workout programs including the “14 Minute Max Interval” Program which is the go to for burning calories and making you sweat. This machine uses a wind / fan resistance wheel so may not be as quiet as the proform. But it does provide low impact and hiit training. It also comes with a Heart Rate monitor and a free bowflex app to track progress. It also has a water bottle holder and place to put your tablet or phone. This machine should definitely be a part of your final select choices.
- The Bowflex machines are similar style and concept. They are also designed to fit in a smaller area like the proform machine. The Bowflex Max Trainer is 3 Feet 10 inches in length and 2 feet 1 inch wide
Nautilus E618 Elliptical Trainer
- The Nautilus trainer is another similar comparable trainer. However This is more of your standard elliptical. It comes with 29 programs to choose from and 25 levels of resistance, it integrates with the Nautilus trainer 2 App so you can track your goals and progress. It provides low resistance, and it runs on rails to provide the smooth ride. It has a blue backlight console that has a tablet / phone shelf and has in console speakers and a fan. This machine will take up more space than the proform and the Bowflex. But can be something to think about if you are looking more for a standard elliptical type machine that you will find at the gym. And don’t worry you can still get a HIIT workout on a standard elliptical
In Conclusion
So hopefully this has shown for one that getting involved with HIIT is a good thing.
If you are looking for a different kind of machine to get away from the standard treadmill and elliptical workout machine that looks nice, is quiet, doesn’t take up too much space and will give you a great full body workout and help you burn calories while working out and for some time after – then this proform cardio hitt elliptical trainer might be a good option to consider.
