You get to the point where you wonder if it is even possible.  You hear from one person that you should eat no fat or low fat food you hear from another that you should eat more fat?  Carbs are bad, Sugar is bad, Fats are bad fruits are bad ….

How do you know who you can trust?

Well I am here to try to help.  I am not a weight loss guru but I have learned a ton over the years on how to lose weight.  I recently lost 25 pounds in 8 months and have kept it off for another 8 months and counting.  I am 46 years old and went from weighing 186lbs down to 160lbs.

So I am here to tell you it can be done.

The basic premise of what I did was to reduce Carbs and Sugars and eat more good proteins and fats.  Which gives you a hint to the answer of this article.

Carbs and Weight Gain

Breads-CarbsSo let’s start with why carbohydrates are so bad.  When you eat foods that are high in carbs such as bread or pasta or anything with white flower really, your body turns it into glucose (or sugar).

This then spikes your blood sugar level and causes your body to produce insulin.  The insulin allows your body to take in or absorb the sugar and use as energy.

Yours cells can only absorb so much sugar.  And once it gets to the point where it can not absorb any more it will store the sugar as fat.

Also over time as you age your body will start to release more insulin than necessary and the insulin will then get stored or converted to fat which is another unfair part of getting older and gaining weight.

Are you starting to see the problem with carbs and age and weight gain? You can keep dieting and exercising and still not see major results.

To see the real results you have to identify the real underlying problem.

Which brings us to our next topic and that is …

Eating Fat To Lose Weight

I’m sure your asking yourself – wait what did that just say?Avocado Good Fats

So when you eat fats such as grass fed butter, Cheese, Nuts and meats your body does not trigger insulin spikes which helps maintain your insulin level and allows your body to burn fats in the cells to get its energy.

Also when you eat good fats your body has to work to break it down which in turn keeps you satiated or full longer and you don’t have the cravings for more food or carbs

Most of us have extra fat on our bodies and if they keep going the way they have been and eating more and more carbs the body will keep using the sugars for fuel and never get to burning Fat.

The goal is to get away from carbs, keep the insulin levels down by eating good fats and allow our body to burn the fat in the cells for energy.

So there you have it a brief article on whether or not it’s better to eat fats or carbs.

It’s a hard concept thinking that you want to eat fats to lose weight – right?  But it is the best way to get your body to stop producing too much insulin or have insulin spikes and get it to the point where you are burning the fat in you body for all your energy and in turn you will lose weight.
